Flinch
02:20
|
|||
I’m scared of the light
I don’t believe it
Sure the sun comes out
But it turns to night quick
I flinch like some kind of monster
When you turn on me
Like I’m some kind of monster
The screen reflects me when it grows dim
Shiny and dark
Sure looks like you’re up to something
So you leave your mark

Cinder and Coals
03:45
|
|||
A knife drags through the middle of you
You didn’t expect it to
It’s cold
And the metal don’t shine like it used to
The raven laughs
Outside my window
The rain does splash
Cinder and coals
You think before every word
It’s obvious you don’t believe in yourself
They see into the backs of your eyes
They are hollow now
They don’t see the light

Lean
02:45
|
|||
You still weigh heavy on me
You used to lean
On every curve of my spine
Now I ache - as if your pain were still mine
The whisper on the wind
Is that you’ve changed
But the tides on the Sound
Roll in and out
The moon shifts its shape with time
Yours holds a fate that isn’t mine

Lost Objects
02:57
|
|||
In your room
Small things
That we found together
Lay around
Lost objects in the sand
All I do is remember
I do not know how to start over
In my room
The sun sets
The golden dust shows our age
It settles down like teardrops in the sand
It covers us like a wave
I do not know how to start over

Old Skin
02:02
|
|||
The skin on my fingers
Makes everything feel dull
Layers and layers of dead skin on my bones
It is painful to peel away
The past that keeps you the same
To feel the wind on your brand skin
Exposed and left for display
The light is barely shining
Making everything feel dull
It’s the dawn of the morning
That pierces through my skull
Sometimes it’s okay
To be sad and let the world fall away
To revel in your dead old skin
And let the tides wash the bay

Sliver II
04:19
|
|||
The moon hangs low on Olympia
A sliver shows - the tides rise high
Thought I saw you walking saltwater
Thought I saw you out on The Sound
I thought I could stop the needle
That causes you to drown
But you fall asleep before the waves crest
That wash over you a cover of bliss
Your mind grows weary the needle grows thin
An open sore that lets it all in
The streetlights glow
Your face once familiar
You keep hold of your shiny, dull paper
Thought I saw you walking up the hill
That takes you all the way home
Your reflection caught my eye
Your shadow is all that I found

Red Mexico
02:02
|
|||
I-5 cries outside my window
Great big sighs
Knowing more than we could know
The lost where do they go
The moon it shines
In the dead of night glows
Watch it rise
Over a red Mexico
We are lost and then we go
The wind it flies
Carries those who know
Which way to ride
And how we die nice and slow
Feather falls we fly to close

Bury It
03:04
|
|||
Your demons sit just beneath your eyelids
A fog that fills your waking head
From the dream that told you
You were already dead
And it follows you
Like a shadow no one sees
So you bury it deep
What mountains sit on your chest?
Weigh you down heavy as lead
Is your reflection one that makes you cringe?
Pulling at the places wishing you could forget?

Tidal Waves
02:22
|
|||
Why hasn’t the moon
Brought you closer to me
It tugs at the tides
It pulls at the sea
I dream in tidal waves
Feathers fall
From things that fly
Too close to the sun
Big star that shines
I dream in tidal waves
